Why Women Should Use Creatine

creatine for womenAfter talking with many women about supplements it is clear that there area a lot of misunderstandings about supplements and how they work.  Women tend to shy away from taking supplements such as protein, creatine powder and many others because of the belief that they are meant for men to help them bulk up. Many women believe that if they were to take these supplements they would get bulky as well which is completely untrue.

Let’s take a look at some of the benefits that women can see by using creatine.

Creatine Will Help Women Get Toned

What are the main goals for women when they’re working out in the gym – women want to have toned, smaller muscles and look good in a bathing suit.  If you are a woman doing yoga, lifting some weights and doing cardio creatine will help you get the most out of your workouts.

Creatine helps all people’s bodies by provide them with the energy needed during workouts – even women.  It doesn’t matter if you’re not lifting a ton of weight or doing a sprint workout, using creatine to help you get the most out of your workouts will help you get to the body that you want.

When you’re in that yoga class trying to hit that pose your muscles are being utilized to help you stabilize and hold in that position.  Creatine will be there to provide muscles energy so those that pose can be held longer or do other moves that may not have been able to otherwise.

Creatine Will Not Make Women Bulky

The biggest fear among women with creatine and supplements in general is that they will get bulky.  This is not the case at all – if you are a women and take creatine, it will not make you bulky!

Men get large, bulky muscles because they have something called testosterone which is a hormone that helps them build those muscles.  Men also tend to focus most of their time in the gym lifting weights, take a lot more supplements and eat like horses to get that bulk.

Women don’t have testosterone so they won’t get that big bulky appearance that men do.  Also women don’t spend most of their time lifting weights so they won’t get too muscular, not that they could without that testosterone.

Creatine powder and supplements in general won’t make you get bulky at all, they will only enhance your benefits that you get from that hard work in the gym.

Creatine Will Not Make Women Fat

This is one fear that women have about creatine which isn’t completely untrue but not the complete truth.  One of the side effects of creatine is some water retention i.e water weight when using the supplement.female_pullup

There is some good news and bad news about this with regards to creatine, first the bad news.  Yes -there will probably be a little weight gain in the form of water weight.

Good news is that it will all be washed away after you cycle off of creatine leaving behind that bikini ready body!  Don’t fear the water weight, it is just temporary.

If you are worried about some of the water weight you can use types of creatine like Creatine HCL which can be taken in lower doses and doesn’t give you as much water weight gain.

Women can see just as many benefits from using creatine as men to help hit their goals and get that body they strive for.  There are many misconceptions about creatine and supplements but hopefully this article helps dispel some of them.  Supplements are a great way to get the most out of your workouts, since so much time and energy is being put into the gym make sure you’re getting the most out of it.
